Twin Lakes Walleye Club members, as you are aware, we launched our new club website several months ago with the vision and intent of creating an online presence and allowing members to have access to important information about our club, as well as tools to help you understand these wonderful fish we all love to chase and catch.
I’m happy to report you that we continue to add new tools to our club website (www.twinlakeswalleyeclub.com) including our newest on-line fishing report enhancement. This will allow you to add your fishing reports directly to the website, and the website will automatically send out the reports the following morning to everyone that has a valid email in the website.
Currently, you are emailing your reports to our walleye anglers email address, Mike is reformatting, copying and re-pasting the emails and sending them back out. But we continue to have spam challenges and some of you are not getting your reports. So, it’s time to put our new website to the test and use it like it was intended.
Effective October 1st, you will no longer be emailing your reports to walleye anglers, but instead, you will be adding the report directly to our website. I’ll be discussing this at our upcoming member meeting and show you how easy it really is. You will even have the option to add your report right from your boat with your phone if you wish.
There are a couple of things you will need to do in preparation for this new reporting process:
Our website and email system are google based. Our members that use Gmail do not have issues receiving fishing reports and general club communication, however other email providers like Suddenlink, Comcast, and a few others block our fishing report emails as spam. So, I’m highly recommending that if you do not have a Gmail account, that you get a free account and if nothing else just use it for your club’s email to ensure you receive your fishing reports. I’m not saying you need to change your email address for your personal email, just add a Gmail account to the website.
Next, I need you to log-in to the site and look over your profile. Name, contact info, email address. Just a little preliminary housekeeping in preparation for launch day.
And lastly, please use the same email address you have in your profile for any club email communication.
I’m here to help you if needed with your log-in issues, and we’ve still got a couple of weeks before launch day, so I hope you will take a few minutes and make sure you are prepared to receive the new reports. And I look forward to seeing you at the next member meeting on the 24th of this month.
